Coilovers: shop the use case, not the hype

The questions worth asking before committing to a suspension change.

The right questions are more useful than a long list of adjustments.

Write a daily-use brief

Describe where and how you actually use the car. Include passengers, parking access, road conditions, and the comfort tradeoffs you are willing to make. This is a buying brief, not a setup recommendation. Give it to the suspension specialist rather than simply asking for the lowest option.

Confirm the complete application

Ask the manufacturer or authorized seller for the exact part number that applies to your configuration and existing modifications. Identify exclusions and required supporting parts. Our catalog presents suspension as a research category; selecting a vehicle in My Garage does not produce an approved compatibility result.

Ask what ownership looks like

Discuss warranty terms, service support, installation requirements, replacement parts, and the process for addressing a problem. Find out who will do the work and who is responsible for post-installation checks. Compare documented support as well as the headline specification.

Budget beyond the box

Get a written installed quote including the setup work the installer recommends. Leave room for resolving any issues found during inspection. Do not treat the product price as the total project cost. Record each component in the build planner and label estimates clearly until you have actual invoices.

Avoid borrowed settings

Do not copy adjustment settings from a video or an unrelated car. Ask your qualified installer to document the setup and explain the checks required for your use. Keep a baseline record so later changes can be discussed accurately. This guide does not provide installation steps, alignment targets, or performance guarantees.
